Pilates at River Yoga with Tara Amato
Join Tara for group or private classes on the mat or on the reformer!
Tara has been practicing as a physical therapist & athletic trainer for more than 27 years, helping athletes, clients and patients with rehab after injury or surgery, as well as pain management, to achieve length, strength and balance in the body. Tara also has extensive experience working with clients with neurological and orthopedic conditions, as well as women's health in pelvic floor rehab and breast health.
Pilates is an innovative, safe system of mind-body exercise using a mat or the reformer (equipment). Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, Pilates focuses on finding correct alignment of the body, and training the deep stabilization muscles of the abdominals, back, hips and shoulders to maintain optimal alignment. Pilates can dramatically transform the way your body feels, performs and looks, building strength without excess bulk.

In addition to Pilates, Tara will also be providing myofascial release services at River Yoga. Myofascial release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure to the myofascial connective tissue, easing tension and tightness to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Tara is a firm believer that with movement and myofascial release you can move better and feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually.

River Yoga partners with the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) to create personal, local and global awareness! 1.25 hour customized yoga session for up to 4 people at a TILT Preserve, $100.00
